Frequently Asked Questions
Our speed test measures your internet connection by
downloading and uploading data to our servers. It calculates
your download speed, upload speed, ping (latency), and
jitter to give you a complete picture of your connection
quality.
For basic web browsing and email, 5-10 Mbps is sufficient.
For HD streaming, 25 Mbps is recommended. For 4K streaming
and gaming, 50+ Mbps is ideal. Multiple users or devices
will require higher speeds.
Ping (latency) measures how quickly data travels from your
device to a server and back, measured in milliseconds. Lower
is better - under 50ms is excellent for gaming. Jitter
measures the variation in ping times; lower jitter means a
more stable connection.
Several factors can affect speed: WiFi interference,
distance from router, network congestion, VPN usage, or your
ISP's throttling. Try testing with a wired connection for
the most accurate results.
Our test provides a reliable measurement of your current
connection speed. For the most accurate results, close other
applications, connect via ethernet if possible, and run
multiple tests at different times of day.
